Cavaride is operated by a Finnish entity based in Finland. We are the data controller for personal data collected through the Cavaride platform.

• Account information: name, email, phone number, profile photo.
• Driver-specific information: driving licence and vehicle registration documents (for verification), vehicle details.
• Trip and booking information: routes, dates, prices, booking status.
• Payment information: processed by Stripe; Cavaride does not directly store card details.
• Communications: messages sent via support channels.

3. Why We Collect It

• To create and manage your account.
• To enable ride posting, search, and booking.
• To verify driver identity and vehicle details, for the safety of other users.
• To process payments and payouts.
• To respond to support requests and resolve disputes.

4. Legal Basis

We process personal data on the basis of contract necessity (to provide the service you've signed up for), legitimate interest (safety and fraud prevention), and consent (where applicable, e.g. optional communications).

5. Who We Share Data With

• Stripe, for payment processing and driver payouts.
• Hosting and database providers, for storing application data.
• Maps and geocoding providers, for route distance calculation.
• We do not sell personal data to third parties.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal data for as long as your account is active, and for a limited period afterward as required for legal, tax, or dispute-resolution purposes.

8. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, secure storage, limited internal access) to protect your data. As a beta-stage service, our security practices continue to evolve.

Your data is stored within the EU/EEA. If any data processing occurs outside this region, appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with GDPR requirements.
